Team Bulletin Boards

Sloppy's answer to the traditional team photo. Originally I had made a physical set of trading cards for my son's soccer team, my first. I wanted to show them off them online so I spread the cards out on the table for a photo. The photo lacked detail, vibrance, and there was glare on some cards. I thought to use the final card files instead of the physical cards. Using Photoshop I put them in one big file and it looked cool, but not real. It didn't really pop until I skewed and moved each card a little, as if they were scattered. The white background was swapped out for various table top textures and eventually I came across a cork board texture, and that's how I posted the set. Later, a team was considering a set of cards but wanted to go cheaper. It occurred to me to offer them faux cards on a print. It's evolved over time, and now it's my bread and butter.

I pull one of my favorite photos of each player for the board, avoiding similar poses from the others. Usually I use a different frame for vertical and horizontal photos. If your team has custom graphics be sure to get them to me and I'll use them on the cards or board.

These card files are included on your photo package and are cropped at 5x7 so you can make individual prints. Perfect for the home office, work cubicles, or the most important and appreciative people in the world... grandmas!

Arranging the board is the hardest part. I try to maximize the size of the cards, overlapping them while not covering up any names. I finish it off with a 3D patch, team or league logo. These look best at 16x20. Framing them is nice, but more push pins work too!
