2021 Yorba Linda Football REYN

A big year for Reyn and the Mustangs! Undefeated in the regular season and it was no cakewalk either. I was at two games where it looked like they were going to lose only to come up with huge plays to win. The Foothill comeback was something special with Reyn marching the team downfield in the final minutes for a huge score and a comeback win. He could only watch as his defense came up with a game winning stop against Villa Park as the Spartans tried a two point conversion and took a sack instead. I also shot the boys at Chino Hills and then at home against Canyon. The Mustangs led the Comanches big and Holden went in for a large part of the second half so not as many as I’d like in the blue uniforms, but I especially like the one below where Reyn is taking a moment to gather himself. Reyn took home some individual honors this season, but I know the winning is what he’s after. He had a strong group of seniors with him this year and it looked like the pieces were there, but a strong season set them up with a difficult CIF bracketing and that was it. He’ll be back for one more season but relying on new players in some key roles, I’ll let you know how it goes!
